Rob plays an Alan Bibey model F5 Gibson Mandolin and sings both lead and harmony vocals. Rob currently resides in Booneville, Kentucky, with his wife Dedria. Rob is an ordained Minister, and when not on the road with the band, he travels to numerous revivals and Churches to preach. Rob grew up in Batavia, Ohio and enjoys music, gardening, hunting and fishing.
HIGHER VISION is a Bluegrass and Bluegrass Gospel group based out of eastern Kentucky that thoroughly enjoys and believes in what they do. Among the list of things that make them so successful is their love for the Lord, willingness to work hard to accomplish common goals, and the fact that they are like a family that travels and performs.
They have toured over the last 20 years from the Mississippi coast up to Prince Edward Island, Canada, and all points in between. On December 15, 2006, they performed at Carnegie Hall in New York, NY as part of "Appalachian Christmas" presented by Christian Music Presenters
In 2001 the International Bluegrass Music Association nominated them as Emerging Artists of the Year. They showcased that same year at the International Bluegrass Music Association World Tradeshow. They were featured in both Bluegrass Unlimited and Bluegrass Now magazines as well as numerous other Bluegrass and Gospel publications.
Higher Vision is Rob Morgan (mandolin, lead and harmony vocals from Booneville, Ky.), Dedria Morgan (bass, rhythm guitar, lead and harmony vocals from Booneville, Ky.), Ronnie Merrill (guitar and harmony vocals from Hamilton, Oh.), Kelly Caldwell (fiddle, bass, lead and harmony vocals from Berea, Ky) and Steve Maynard (banjo, dobro, lead and harmony vocals from Winchester, Ky.).

Ronnie from Hamilton, Ohio got his first guitar for Christmas from his Grandma at age 13. His favorite guitar he currently plays is a 1979 Martin HD-28 his parents bought him his senior year in high school. Ronnie began learning to play by playing along with Larry Sparks' records while also taking some lessons from Roger Hollon in Campton, Ky. While in high school, he performed with a traveling school group called "The Entertainers," directed by Joe Hall at Wolfe County High School. He also performed with the "Pine Ridge Boys" that included his younger brother and his cousin as well as "The Kentucky Echoes" who were chosen to perform at the 1982 Worlds Fair He received a guitar scholarship to attend Lee's Jr. College in Jackson, Ky. He enjoys playing softball, running, music and is an avid Kentucky Wildcats basketball fan..
Dedria sings lead and harmony vocals and plays bass and rhythm guitar. She is a gifted songwriter who has written a number of songs for Higher Vision. Dedria grew up in Booneville, Kentucky, and spent several years in Batavia, Ohio. She now resides in Booneville, Kentucky, with her husband Rob. Dedria enjoys sewing, cooking, reading, music, and gardening.
